Lead Climbing Course – Red Card

The continuation course for those who have completed our basic course and now want to earn a red card and learn how to lead climb. Unlike top-rope climbing, where the rope is fixed at the top of the wall, lead climbing involves tying into the rope on the ground and clipping into intermediate protection points as you climb. The course is split into 2 sessions and follows the standards of the Swedish Climbing Federation.

Course information

  • All equipment is included
  • Minimum age: 15 years (under 18 requires a parent’s consent)
  • We recommend having a green card and at least 6 months of active top-rope climbing before booking a lead climbing course
  • Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise full payment is charged

Price

  • 1,650 SEK per person (includes both sessions)

First session – Part 1

2 hours, pre-booking required
In a group of max 4 participants, you will review equipment and knots with an instructor and learn all aspects of lead climbing

  • Sickla: Odd weeks, Wednesdays 18:00–20:00
  • Gasverket: Even weeks, Mondays 17:30–19:30

Second session – Part 2

3 hours, pre-booking required
Advanced technique is covered and you will practice lead climbing safely. The session concludes with the lead climb test for the red card

  • Sickla: Even weeks, Wednesdays 18:00–21:00
  • Gasverket: Odd weeks, Mondays 17:30–20:30
